One of the new lines is the
SP18,
a packaging machine for solid and liquid products of any size, shape and
volume (like ground coffee or coffee beans, flours, soft drinks, biscuits,
pasta, pet-food, etc.) in the stand up pouch
format.
It is an extremely compact
modular line, consisting of two independent, but perfectly integrated,
units: the first one forms pouches, starting from a film reel, and the
second one fills and closes them.
The SP18 pouch maker was
designed by the AromaSystem R&D company as the ICA answer to the ever
increasing demands of the market, which today goes beyond the need for a
perfect preservation of the product, demanding also new and practical
solutions, captivating shapes and original designs capable of attracting
the attention of the consumer: the bag on the shelf must sell itself.
This is the reason why the SP18 makes (consumer friendly) easy-open
and re-closing pouches, puts on them various kinds of promotional labels,
cuts euro-slots and enables to print over the entire pouch’s surface (in
this global market it is absolutely necessary to print clear and detailed
product information, often in more than one language). The SP18
makes particular-shaped pouches with three heat-sealed edges, using any
hot-bar heat-sealing film.
Needless to say that the
SP18
ensures also the highest level of protection for preserving the product.
This line has been designed particularly for those products packed in
medium/large pouches, which are not consumed all at once, thus requiring
the application of re-closing zips or pouring caps for preserving the
product’s freshness and avoiding unpleasant odours inside the
refrigerator. Regarding the zip, once the pouch is formed and filled, the
SP18
re-closes the zip, so as to keep it absolutely clean and operational,
especially when packaging powders.
For those products that
release gases after packaging (like coffee, for example), the SP18
solves the problem by simply fitting the well-known “AromaSystem”
degassing valve.
Nevertheless, the most
amazing feature that will captivate the “packaging experts” is the fact
that all the operations described above are performed starting from a
simple reel of heat-sealing film.
There
are no doubts that the advantages implied are extremely significant.
In a world where the most
important aim is reducing production costs, the fact of purchasing the
film in reels, which are readily available everywhere at increasingly low
prices and performing every packaging operation internally, enables to
save in terms of economic and management costs (pre-made pouches are more
expensive and less readily available) and logistics (improved storage
management and less space required). Furthermore, this line guarantees
maximum autonomy in terms of machine operation as regards time
required/packed pouches (the SP18
can work with reels having up to a 750 mm diameter and up to 700 mm wide,
at an average speed of 70 pouches per minute) and very practical running
(an integrated automatic reel lifting system enables to save time and
reduce the weight handled by the operator during the machine reel changing
operations).
For the SP18 machine
fitting zips and degassing valves is easy and the results are very
accurate: from a technical point of view the
SP18 offers to the
ICA customer the possibility of incorporating a variety of custom-made
solutions (filling in different stations with various kinds of dosing or
weighing devices, coding and dating systems, check-weighers, etc.).
Last but not least, by
configuring personally the entire electronic system, ICA guarantees to the
customer a direct tele-servicing connection for any control, updating or
support that the machine might need.
Please note also that the
above mentioned features of the SP18
are international patented, in proof of the quality of the research done
and the results obtained.
